Inspired by ACG’s focus on heat, protection and outdoor performance, as part of our R&D we developed an interactive thermal experience that transformed human movement into a live visual echo.

As people moved through the space, a camera detected the shape of their bodies and translated their presence into mesmerising thermal silhouettes. With multiple people in frame, the result became a hypnotic display of motion and layered imagery.

The experience was developed as a web-based R&D prototype, allowing it to run like a traditional website and be deployed easily to any screen connected to a webcam.

We built the system to identify human forms in real time and render them as thermal echoes, with particular attention given to the visual parameters of the effect. Levels of detail, intensity and texture could be dialled up or down, giving the team precise control over the final look and feel while keeping the setup flexible, lightweight and adaptable for different spaces.
